One day I locked the door with the remote and when I came back, it would not open. I changed the batteries thinking that was the problem but when i did, nothing changed. I tried to look at the book to see if it is a fuse or something but all were ok. please help! what do u guys think it is?

I assume the power locks still work from the switches on the doors. If not, then the problem is probably not in the keyless system. If they do, then do any other functions on the keyless remote key fob work such as the trunk release or the panic feature? Do you have a second remote key fob you can try? Are you sure you put the battery in correctly, and the new battery is actually good? What year is your Taurus? The owner's manual probably has a section on programming the remotes (depending on the year). Maybe something caused the remote to lose sync with the remote module. Not likely, but possible.

I don;t have an extra controller but nothing on th control works. I bought a new battery but i guess i could try another one just in case. My taurus is a 2000. I like that the idea that the remote module could be out of sync. Thanks for the reply man.

From how I read the description of events there was no mention of reprogramming the remote after the battery was replaced. I believe you must do that.
