Those electric motors cannot pump enough air to keep up with an engine's demand much less pressurize the intake overcoming the vacuum and atmospheric pressure.I also hear they burn out in short order too. There is no substitute for $2000+ precision made purpose-made hardware. Those Tornados and so-called fuel savers/performance upgrades are hype pure and simple. The only one getting rich off them are the ones selling them. The end user gets taken.

Which is worse, replying negatively, or pointing out your stupidity for not knowing basics of engine operation and how such a device would effect it AND not being capable of doing a search.

I'd rather be a pessimist than incompetent.

Dude, you've been around long enough to read the endless posts on those things, you're doing it to get a rise out of people. If you dont want negativity, dont go asking for it.

Yeah, that one is a joke. It's funny they claim "5 TO 10 TIMES MORE POWERFUL than any other "wanna-be" competitor! ACCEPT NO IMMITATIONS"

yet it only makes 1psi?

Here's the real deal, www.boosthead.com. These 5psi or 12psi ESC's use three custom starter motors and a real centrifugal turbo, without the hot end, of course. Using a 24-volt current with two extra batteries and your alternator, the system has an electronic controller that switches from "charge" mode to "arm" which disconnects the ESC from you car's electric system, so it draws power from the two extra batteries only, then switches back to your alternator to charge the batteries.

For the price, you could spend twice as much and get a real SC or turbo setup, but the benefit here is that it's only "on" when you want it, not all the time like SC/turbo. Which I guess for some people is great, but I want boost all the time.

That's just hilarious that they think 1psi is serious, and the price is outrageous for the tiny amount of boost produced.
