paint is faded... car was garage kept... little to no rust... found a guide for buying a TII ... http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/buy2.htm ... think that would be helpful ? i'm suppose to swap plates tomorrow and take 'er for a spin. guy selling it is more into v8's that run 8 sec 1/4 miles... so he lost interest years ago

also read the TII's don't have 5th and 6th ports....soooo... no secondary injectors ?

lol
Why V8s that run 8 sec quarters? I'd have to ask the guy. Ask him..."How cool would it be to have a measly 3.0L V6 that'll do that...or how about an EVEN SMALLER 2.6L I6 that can...or how about a 1.7L ROTARY that runs 8 sec quarters? How cool would THAT be, man?" I personally think that'd be cooler...lol... Maybe that's just me...???

yeah the secondaries are to support the turbo on boost. the stock size is 550cc. a common upgrade is 720cc. since you have a 87 tII they are the low impedence ones.

since when was a rotary engine 1.7L? maybe that would be a 20b with a broken seal?

lol...read that somewhere. Thought it was something like that. I'm not very familiar with RX-7s. What size are the engines, then?

heyyy now man get it right ... 61.0237441 cubic inches in a cubic liter... so 61.0237441x1.3=79.33086733ci ... haha sorry had to be an ass.
and if you want to get really technical... the 13b has two 654cc rotors, so... 654x2=1308cc's, or 1.308 Liters sooo 61.0237441x1.308=79.8190572828 cubic inches.
maybe that was pointless but i am bored and it gave me something to do... lol

status... i'm not buying it (lol) i'm just the only person that badassfocus1101 knows that knows anything about a rotary... we went and looked at it yesterday, started it up and messed with it for awhile it seems to run great... just time to come up with the money to get it. lol
the car even has the TII aluminum hood, first one i've seen with that particular hood, bc i heard not all of them had the aluminum hood.
another question... what kind of avaliability is there on good bolt on stuff... ? like noisy BOV's and boost controllers... he plans to play with it for awhile, tear it down, rebuild it, probly port it and start all over again... are there any simple mods to crank the boost ? he also probly plans on getting a set of 720cc injectors to assist in the boost hike if possible... i know next to nothing about tweaking turbo cars without being destructive.
and btw we're both from ohio, near dayton.
any help you could provide would be greatly apprecieated.
thanks !!!!

ps... did ya like my shorthand math ? ha

Ok simple bolt on mods for a TII. As far as it goes, an intake and exhaust is really the only "simple" thing to do. But wit a high flow full exhaust you will need some form of FCD. If not you will pop the rear rotor.
BOV is pointless with a TII as they are designed to re-route the air back into the intake. If you run an open dump you will hurt preformance because it will run rich between shifts.
Preform all relibility mods and repairs before asking more of the engin, or become another person who simpley says the rotary is a bad car because there engines blow up.

you can recirculate the BOV to send air back into the intake.
as a matter of fact the HKS kit for the TII does just that.

ehhh... i did not know that. a friend of mine has a similar setup on his merkur xr4ti.... his bypass valve recirculates the air back into the intake to keep the turbo spinning to help prevent lag... so the fact that the turbo 7 is like that too is kinda neat.

The Z32TT has this too. It's called a recirculation valve. Just make sure you put the dump point before the mass air flow sensor or you'll run lean.

yup. on our cars i think it "tees" in at that little pop off valve or whatever that is on the intake tube

Thats a good point, there are some BOV's out there that preform bette than the stock and are adaptable to be recirculated.
If you run a open dump style i suggest you also go stand alone and get rid of the MAF sensor. Thats is what i have done.
