Passenger side mirror

I recently hit my passenger mirror on a 96 Towncar and broke the glass and the adjustment servo motor. To replace the whole mirror looks like a big job as they only come in black and have to be painted to match the car. Are there any other alternatives where I could just replace the motor and glass less expensively as my housing still looks fine? Are the mirror motors between the town car and continental interchangable? How do I remove the interior door panel without breaking it. Thks for the help.

Howdy xcr800le..
I see you like Jeep's too :) My wife drove Cherokee until gas prices and her drive to work exceeded 1.5 hours :( Got a bit cost prohibitive.

Good News

Yes, the glass is replacable seperately (PN:17K707), and (for whatever it's worth) the Conti has the same Servo Motors. I suppose you plan on raping a Conti for the Servo Motor ?

I am just trying to figure a way to get it replaced without paying about 500.00 that the dealer wants to get one, paint it, and install it. So some cont mirrors on ebay and was hoping to get the motors out of them. I dont even know how to get the inside door panel off - imagine it is a pain. How do you like your Cartier. I have a Signature Diamond Anniversary Edition. Almost tem years old and still the smoothest ride in the business.

Mine's still riding on a cloud too.. been having a few problems from time to time, some I've not had the chance to fix yet. Just recently I got a crawling crack in my front windshield, this freakin desert weather is making my headliner dryrot near the back window too....

Happy trails

i HAVE A GUY, YOUNG DUDE, TOTALLY MOBILE THAT COMES TO MY DRIVEWAY FOR AUTOMATIC WINDOWS, DOORS, MIRRORS, ETC. TOTALLY REASONABLE PRICES AND I BET YOU HAVE ONE TOO. MOST LIKELY A YOUNG DUDE STARTING OUT AS AN ENTREPRENEUR, CALL YOUR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND ASK TO SPEAK TO THE AUTO-BODY TEACHER. THESE GUYS ARE SERIOUS AND KNOW THEIR PARTS AND WORK. I PAY $150 PER DOOR AND THATS WINDOWS, LOCKS, WHATEVER IS INSIDE THE DOOR, HE CAN PROBABLY FIX YOUR STEREO WIRES TOO....WORTH LOOKING INTO.
