hot weather starting problems

93 blazer 4.3 vortec will start when outside temp is below 80 degree like 1st thing in the morning....when left in a parking lot at work for a full 8 hr shift and totally exposed to the sun and outside temp over 80 the engine will crank but won't fire any help there?
maybe 1st or 2nd try you'll get a partial fire then just won't fire at all.
have replaced dist cap & rotor fuel filters and cleaned injectors

also is there such a thing as a fuel inj temp sensor for this engine?

Sounds like you might have a fuel pressure problem.

Do a tuneup including a fuel filter.

I had this same problem with my '98. It was the fuel pump.

My 94 had a bad ignition pickup. I figured out the problem after replacing many other parts (including all new fuel system from front to back). I don't know of any way to test this part other than replacement, but this is exactly how mine would act. It would run as long as the engine was cool then shut off. Once cooled it would start again. There is a remote chance that you have a bad ignition module. My 93 s-10 4.3 Vortec just lost its second ignition module. Both of them would work and the truck ran normal until it got hot, then it would stall and die until it cooled off, then it would re-start.

The good news is, the ignition module can be bench tested out of the truck at autozone or other parts stores for free. Everyone will tell you that the ignition module either works or it don't and that heat has no bearing on them, but that is BULL. I have had to replace mine twice that worked intermittenly.

The module can be tested, and they told me the same crap about the pickup..."it wouldn't cause that" they said, however, it is an electrical component and can be the possible problem if it is sensitive to heat and cool conditions such as described. I would check the module first though as mine was also bad and is a little easier to replace than the pickup, but the pickup was still causing the problem in my case after replacing the module.

i have replaced the ign.mod about 2 months ago shop says fuel pressure is ok but with 200+ k miles on it i would imagine it's the original pick up coil i'll give that a shot thanks sorry to here i'm not the only 1 w/ this problem but i was beginning to wonder after the other boards i've searched kept saying fuel pressure or pump problem
