Problems with Acceleration

I have a 2001 Blazer and after it is shifted into drive or stopped to get to go again you have to step on the accelerater pretty hard. Does anybody have any idea why this is?

You need to give us a lot more info.
Is the SES light on?
Does it appear to be stuck in drive?
