eerr!!! swirl marks swirl marks how to rid them!

I wanna get rid of my light swirl marks that I have on my midnight blue body. I was considering to get the Meguiar's ScratchX.

Anyone try this formula? anyone have any other recommendations or suggestions? thanx. :D

I'm not sure what caused the marks...I always use soft mit, soft chamos, etc. is this just something that's inevidable? dark colors are a buiscuit.

All that scratch remover stuff is crap. If you want something that is really good, use butter compound. That is what professionals use to detail cars. The swirls are the result of constant passing over the towel, chamois and what not. I can't tell you exactly what causes them but, that can be one of them. I have people usually detail my car but I'm going to start doing it myself as I am going to be painting my car over. If I get the name of the compound, I will let you know.:D

thas what sux about dark colors. I use the mothers 3 step wax, it works real well for me.

tanks for the info guys. btw, that mothers 3step wax, do they sell just the scratch remover? I ask this because man, I gots tons of wax!

I just bought that gt88 stuff ..for removing deep scratches. But you can also get polishes that attempt to remove light swirls and scratch marks.
I also have been given a bottle of Car Brite Butter Wax which is suppose to be amazing. Will be putting it on the car after I get the brows, splitters and front bumper painted.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I use "Meguiars Diamound Cut Compound".....for the swirls.
Believe me...this stuff works.
If you want a really good job done, go and buy a polishing machine(buffer) as this makes a quick and easy job of getting them out of your paint.
Always use a chamos when drying.
After using the compound, polish then wax the car.

Also, I heard that if you go down to the Meguiar's factory in Irvine, CA, they'll give you demonstrations of their products on your car for free. This may not help you guys that aren't in CA, but if you ever get the chance... ;)

I use that Zanos Bros. Stuff.......it takes forever to put on, but it is well worth it!!!!

yah, I was reading through that car detailing article on SCC...that's where I noticed that Meguires was making that ScratchX. :D I use mostly Meguires stuff, so thought it might be worth a try. :confused:

Im kinda shying away from an orbital buffer because Ive never used one and have heard (and seen) horror stories of people burning and damaging paint. :bloated:

so kinda wanted to go the simple route until I send the car out to the detailing shop in a year or so.
