Main Bolts

i was wondering if u guys knew what is so special about the main bearing bolts in thes mfing 2.5litre engines?!?! i dont see why i cant just put in grade 8 boltsin the **** thing like we do in 302 mustangs??
everyone says that these are ARP bolts and grade 8 Aint strng enough
o btw the dealer (who seems to be the only place in arkansas who can get them wants to keep them @ $20 a peice
any thoughts any one

The ARP bolts are designed to be tougher than grade 8. They are specifically designed for engine applications and are used in most racing applications. It would be stupid to risk a $2500 engine for a few dollars saved on bolts. Tell the dealer to pound sand and go on line to find what you need.
