bmw z3 roll bar

just got my tamiya bmw z3 in the mail today, and i noticed some potential with one of the unnessecary pieces they put on the body... it seems to be the perfect shape for a roll bar. not sure how it will look in a normal place. we'll have to see how it looks once i've finished the model. anyone tried this before? you can see the piece i'm talking about in the picture....
