drivers window won't budge

my drivers power window will not go down or move at all. when i push the button to put window down i can hear something in door like it wants to go down. is it very hard to take door panel off to look at it??? every car i ever owned once you take door panel off it is a royal pain in ass to ever get it back like it was.
