I have a 1998, Automatic 4.0 SOHC Explorer. My A/C is not giving out enough cold, blower is working good. is there an indicator to determine what the problem is?

Your in the wrong folder. But to answer your question you can either get a bottle of the a/c recharger stuff at like shucks and do it yourself. Or you can pay $100 or so and go in and get it done. The bottles only cost $20 though. We had our truck done today, we tried the bottle and it dind't work for shit. So we said screw it b/c wer're driving 6 days next week (from WA to NJ) and my husband needs the a/c for it. So we took it in to get it done and it took 2lbs of the freon to recharge it. It costs about $25 a pound for freon is what we found out, at least around here in our area. And given how the stuf fyou can buy worked like shit for us, I think just taking it in and spending the $100 is worth it. His a/c is blowing cold air now while before it was completely warm air. Also, they put in a dye and so if it ever begins to leak, wherever we take it can just check it with a black light for leaks. I really liked that also.
