sound laws

i just had a little something happen that pissed me off. i went to drop my girl off at school(college) and as i was leaving the parking lot some guy yelled out at me to "turn it down" and it wasnt even that loud. i dont know if he was school security or some cop in training, since we have a academy right down the street.

anyways, does anyone know the sound laws or where i can find them?? i wanna know what i can legally do and not get in trouble by assholes like that guy.

i know a few states that adopted a new "to loud" law, the fees reaching into the thousands, i live in california and im not sure how much you could be fined for playing you music to loud but i have a friend that got ticketed for playing "to loud" a misdeamor.

ii live in ca too, the bay area. and theyre cracking down hard on "cruising" and shit like that. but i sure as hell dont wanna spend a month in jail cause i like music, thats just plain stupid. imo, some rich old folks are just on a power trip. i bet some of the same cops thatll pull you over, go blasting their systems on the way home from the police station. and since they dont give exact statistics, they can just tell you it was too loud and you cant really do anything about it. i feel since i pay taxes, im paying their salary... so give me a fuckin break and let me listen to my music. aaahhh, that feels better. im done bitchin. gotta goto sleep and work tomm. late

I have paid over $500 in noise violations in the past.... The first one was cool, I had bragging rights!!! the next four started to piss me off!!!! The law in Ga is 100' if you can hear it more than that you can be sited.... All you have to do to find out is call your local court house and ask.... Or ask a cop some time.... The biggest tickett was $277.... I got a tickett in Fl with a stock speakers!!!!! the law there is if you can hear to the side of the road.... I think they are crazy!!! There shouldn't be any retrictions all day until ecept from 11pm to 7 am that would be fair I think.....

hey wassup. i believe the loudest you can bust up your system infront of a cop or police department is less than 91 decibals. i still have to figure out how loud one decibal is. hehe. :sun:

I got a close call I was sitting at a red light in GA and a cop was walking out of dunkin donuts like a car lane and a parking lot away and he heard it and started walking towards my car I saw him and turned it down and he walked back to his car. he could have gotten me if he wanted.

he was bumping his shit in his 86 hoopty Toyota Tercel!!
don't know why he just didn't give him a warning.
maybe its because he was playing some rap song saying "cop killa, cop killa" :D haha
