80's Diesel running on Bio or SVO/WVO fuel

I have read on one website that the 5 cylinder IDI MB engines is ideal for running on straight vegetable oil or blend of this and diesel. Plus run on Bio-diesel. I have heard of folks having to preheat the svo or wvo. Does anyone know if one can blend some svo with diesel and avoid heating the tank and fuel supply lines? And if so what percent for the proper seasons. Thanks

I too would be interested in that answer. I have been adding a couple of gallons of used filtered cooking oil from my deep frier to my 91 350 SDL ( 20+ gal tank) for some time now without any trouble. I live in the Poconos and it gets fairly cold here. I do know in the winter that same cooking oil ( un-used) coagulates in it's container which I store in the unheated garage (attached to my kitchen).
