My son just put new front rotors and pads on his Chevy 1500. He had to drain some brake fluid but put new back in. He pumped the brake pedal until it got firm then went for a test drive and zero brakes. He has replaced pads before and with no problems. The sop put in a new master cylinder a few months ago. Does anybody have any ideas. He followed the mannual for doing this step by step and says everything went oK. Your help is greatly appreaciated. Thank you

Did he bleed the brakes?

Not sure but will ask him. Do the brakes need to be bled after he was done and fluid added? He said the brake pedal now goes all the way to the floor? Thank you.

The first thing is definitely to bleed the brakes. There are plenty of sites online to give directions on how to do it. No, you don't necessarily have to bleed every time, but considering he did drain some fluid and you don't say where he drained it from, it is a good bet that the brakes need to be bled.
