Crank Sensor

1994 2.2,tried a while back to change out the crank position sensor, but it was stuck/rusted in the bore.I tried everything I could without damaging it,but couldnt get it to budge. Is there another way to get one out without destroying it? Would there be better access inside the crankcase to push it outward? I would imagine the crank itself would block any access to it.This car has a strange habit of once in a while experiencing an extended cranking period.Sometimes have to re crank 3 or 4 times.Other times it fires right off.Seems like a trigger problem namely that crank sensor (like there ever was a GM product that never suffered crank position sensor failure.....ha).

Did you ever solve this problem?
I'm currently having the same problem with a 2000, but I was a little dumber and I broke the sensor. Now I have 1/2 a sensor suck in the hole, and I can’t get it out.

Just an update to anyone interested.
In the 2.2 OHV engine, there's enough room to remove the sensor from the inside, if you take off the oil pan (which requires taking off the starter, engine mount, compressor, etc.).
Also, the new sensor wouldn't initially fit in the hole, so I had to sand it a little with sandpaper to get it to fit.
