Sup guys,

I was considering buying the folia-tec caliper paint for 35 bucks but saw the Dupli-Color caliper paint at AutoZone, Anyone ever try it? Is it any good? Is it as good as Folia-tec? Any one have any pics of their calipers painted with Dupli-color caliper paint? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I put on some 500 degree engine spray paint about 3 years ago and it's as good as new.

Im not really interested in taping my car all up. I understand dupli-color is painted on as opposed to sprayed on.

Anyone ever try it?

I used Dupli-color spray on my side-mirrors and urethane lip. The side mirrors havent feded, but its lacking a flex-agent, which is why the paint started to flake like crazy on the bendy urethane lip. Its a good paint though, and I guess if you get it in a can, it'll spray on, if its in a bucket, it'll paint on...lol.

Any calliper paint should do the job. Just the check the temperature rating, though calliper paints are designed to last through high temperatures (hence theyre grouped separately from regular paint as "calliper" paint).

why would you have to tape your car all up? take off the wheel, remove the caliper and just put some newspaper behind it. paint it up all nice and shiny with whatever color you want on it (use high-temp shit though) and put it back on. put the wheel back on and torque the lug nuts down and your done. simple as that.

Is not as simple as that, you talking about removing the caliper all together? to then reinstall it? or do you mean placing paper in the wheel well to then paint it and take chances getting some overspray on the car. You cant spray paint it too close or you gonna get overspray on the calipers which is gonna drip. Why go through all of that when they sell the brush on paint.

Has anyone ever used the duplicolor paint for calipers?

well hell, why not just brush paint your whole car? because it looks like shit. if you don't want to see the brush strokes and have it look even half ass even, use spraypaint. and you still need to take off the caliper to paint it with a brush if you want to do a half-ass decent job.

duplicolor is great. I have interior stuff done with it it's nice. I bought VT (something liek that) from autozone to paint my calipers (spray). I had brushed them and they turned out pretty crappy (I don't remember the brand). You can try doing it without removing the caliper but it's really hard to get it nice and even. You want to remove it and don't let it dangle there!. I removed mine and proped it up to paint them with the brush on stuff.

I ended up spraying them. I popped them off put them on a block and threw a tarp over my car. It was easiest. With it on the block you just tape up the parts of the caliper you dont' want to spray and then hit it. It will get on the tarp but hey no big deal it's a tarp..

So I too recommend the spray stuff. I dont' remember which brand of brush on I used but it wasn't worth the effort.

nigga is slang for the word nigger, which is slander. and for the records, "i'ma" isn't a word either. let's try and talk normal english on here. thanks and have a nice day :smokin:

it works just fine.
i had g2 or whatever it's called but i got a nick in it so i repainted with the duplicolor and it's just as good. it's actually a richer, brighter red than the g2.
