Hardwire Radar Detector

Any advice on how/where to hardwire a radar detector on my son's 99 ZX2?

Plugging it into the cig lighter just won't cut it.

Yeah Man ... This is how I did it ... Run the positive and negative cord through the firewall ... Strip the ends of both wires ... Ground out the negative to a screw under the hood somewhere and then wrap the positive wire around the tooth of a headlight fuse ... The only thing is, this means that the radar detector will only work when the lights are on but driving with the lights on in the daytime never hurt anyone ... That's how I do with all my neons on the inside and outside of my car ...
