Body Suspending

I am going to be body suspending in a few months. I was wondering if any one here at A.F. has done this before or has seen it done before (besides on tv channels). I am going to do the vertical back (suicide) suspension. If you have tseen this i would like you to please share your experience. thanks chris

This is where you suspend your body using your skin and hooks and stuff right? What would make you wanna get into that??

I am already into minor body modifacations. I have 6 tattoos and right now i have 4 piercings, i use to have 13 piercings but got tired of them getting caught on things. It wont be for at least another 3-4 months because i want to get a experienced group since it will be my first time. I am doing this for two reasons. The first is i am religous and jesus indured (sp) all that pain for me and i feel i can show him i appreciate it by doing the same for him. The second is the experince i am always trying new things like this. I am also going to be getting some scarifaction done when i have my kid. I will get both of thier names cut into my chest. I have been into piercings and tattoos since i was little. Most of my family is covered in both. I enjoy it because i can express my self through my tattoos and each has a special meaning of my life.

My parents think im crazy too. My parents hate the idea but understand. My mom has never liked my piercings or tattoos but she has accepted me for me. My girlfriend really doesnt care she understands some people are into this and she supports me no matter what. It's kinda like street racers someone will always disapprove but as long as you enjoy it and it means something to you do it.

I will borrow my dads video camera and i will take my digital camera and post it. That is if the mods wont have a problem with it because i will have blood running down my back for a while from the hooks.

Seems to me that if you wanted to show God how much you apprecieate him you would try to take care of yourself, and not go cutting, piercing, marking and ragging out the only body he gave you.

1. So why are you doing this stuff if he doesn't?
2. Not all cultures worship the same god or hold the same beliefs.

1. I do it for my pleasure. My tattoos are all about one particular event that meant alot in my life. Piercings i just get because i like them. Suspending is just one of my own way of showing i am willing to do anything for him.
2. Of course all cultures have different belifes and gods. This is also why there are so many different things that are execpted in each culture or religion.

I think yall will understand how this ties into the religious aspect of the body suspension. It is about some practices of the religious group known as Opus Dei, some members beat themselves with basically whips and tie metal barbs to their legs, which for all you religious people who think this is insane this has been common practice among many Catholic Monks thoughout the ages.

It has nothing to do with acceptance of your differences, it's about rejection of bullshit pretences for doing it. :)

I was wondeirng if members found people who are into body art (tattoos, piercings, or body implants) unattractive or attractive.

It dosen't matter to me what the hell people do with their bodies. But I think that people who go way overboard with these things usually look like retards. Especally people who over-do things like plastic surgery, they usually come out looking like freaks.

Half of my friends have sevaral tattoos or piercings, I just don't know too many people who are soo hardcore that they want to hang them selves from the roof by their back, have body implants, or clip a nosering to their taint meat. All that I can say about your question is that all the people I have met in my lifetime that are seriously into all those things you mentioned were pretty butt ugly already and way fucked up in the head, but I guarantee they were that way before they found out about any of that shit.

With the exception of the implant stuff, yeah I dig it. Some people go overboard with random crap all over their bodies but others do a good job with it. Personally like the whole piercing thing....its kinda fun having a hole knocked in you. Tattoos im pretty picky about, people get so much stupid crap that they are going to regret when they get older. As long as it is unique and says something about who that person really is (instead of some chineese letters that you dont know what the hell they mean) then its cool with me.

Well, I have a tat on my shoulder. I choase the location so that it not normally visible unless I choose to display it.

My tat says something about me, and I consider it private to me, and my closest to me, not for public exhibition.

Im not into the implants but am into every thing else. All of my tattoos have an actuall meaning to me its not just something i thought looked cool. My piercings i just got them because i like them no meaning. I agree some people do go a bit overboard but if thats your thing do it. Also you dont have to be fucked up in the head to go suspending or do body modifications.

I didn't say you had to be, I just said that all of the people I personally know that would do something that extreme are pretty psycho. But I'm just talking about them as a person, I know plenty of fucktards that are clean-cut and have never had their ear pierced.
I think your taking things to personally, when you ask a question like that on a public forum your going to get negative answers. Some will be for it and some against it, I personally don't care what you do. You don't have to constantly defend your actions.

I don't know. I've thought about a tattoo countless times, and I just can't find something that I'd be totally happy with for my whole life.

As far as on guys, nothing really phases me as long as they have a good personality. But there's no way I can see myself bringing one of those covered from head to toe kinds of people home to meet my parents.

wouldnt know never seen the cell. As for skydiving it wasnt much of a rush i did it a few years back as well as bunji jumping (sp). I am into pain so hooks in my back wont bother me. As for it hurting me im really not to worried if they tear out whille im in the air.

I don't know, personally it is something I would never do. Secondly, I'm not the least bit religious, but if he wants to do it, then good for him. And I don't think he should have to justify his desire or REASONS. If he wants to do it for his faith, then he is allowed to. I would hardly associate praticing constitutionally-protected religious freedom with terrorism... Why judge...just let him do what makes him happy. Best of luck with it.

As far as i know my religon has nothing against it. Many penacostals (sp) have tattoos and piercings and i havent ever heard our preacher preach against them yet. nor does it say to do it either. I was just wanting to do it because he took all that pain for us and i wanted to show him i would for him but any way im tired of all this religons arguing. I should of just said i was going to do it. I will how ever post a video of this as long as it is ok by a moderator because i know that there will be some blood.
