I have an '02 Voyager 2.4L with 37k miles. When using the air conditioning, the car is jerky, I don't know how else to describe it. I expect a loss of power when using the a/c, but it feels like it keeps engaging/disengaging causing a real jerky feeling. Probably every few seconds I can feel it. It's so bad I try not to use the a/c except on the most brutal hot days. I also notice that when the a/c is on I hear a sort of rattling sound...sounds like its coming from the front passenger side. It's done this since new. We recently had the car in the shop and mentioned the a/c problem but they said it all checked out fine.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hate to tell you this is probably normal , the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder is really underpowered for this van thus when you turn on the air conditioning this turns on the compressor which cycles itself on and off and this is what you are feeling because running the compressor takes additional power to run . Unless you have some weak motor mounts or something their may not be a whole lot you can do about it if it cools the way it should . The rattling you hear is probably the compressor engaging AND disengaging . The cycling of the compressor is normal .
Thanks.
