Here is what I have guys. You guys have always done me right so let me run this one by you.
My trusty 96' PA has developed a hiccup in the Climate Control System. Basically, it won't blow air out of the vents....just the defrost and at the feet.
I took it into my 'trusty' mechanic and he told me that he checked vacuum leaks but basically had to get into the dash and found out the actuator valve inside the system was bad and needed replaced. He then scared the crap out of me by stating the part alone was in the $390 range!!
Anybody else experience this and is this something a shade tree mechanic like me can tackle without scarring my PA for life?
If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

My '95 PA has the same problem...Does your climate control module say anything?

The actuator can be purchased for about 36 bucks at Advanced Auto Parts, or most other major suppliers. It looks like your 'trusty' mechanic" must have given you the price of the Programmer,{Part #16258434 AC Delco } $374.79 or the control module, instead of the actuator!!
