:shakehead Bought new fuel pump / fuel filter not even day old replaced went 4 miles and engine dies said "huh" parked it looked around and jumped back in went another 2 miles died and now nothing .....test light shows relay( prime in fuse box compartment)and at harness to fuel pump working .....light stays on 2 - 3 seconds than goes off..... plug wires back in nothing....definite fuel pump went bad any reason for it or is it really bad any help is greatly appreciated [email protected] :banghead: :feedback:

i would guesss you just had some bad luck and got a crap pump.

also i didnt purge system of air after install because i figured full tank of gas should i of done that? Haynes didnt mention it thought ide ask though thanks for the reply

I've never heard of a reason to purge the system as it isn't a completely sealed circuit. It has to cycle everything through the tank sooner or later and the air will purged from the lines then. As far as I know it doesn't take more than a few minutes tops.

i dont think it is passlock because that will cut the fuel off completly and not let it start. and it will flash security on the dash. you will have to leave the key on for 10 or 15 mins to let the passlock clear then you can start it.
