Key code/ignition inhibitor

I have a 2001 spider and recently the key lock code light has stayed on and won't let me start up. I can manually unlock the code and use the emergency starting proceedures but it drops off again a couple of days later and now one key won't unlock the doors by remote. I have replaced key batteries. It's wierd...

any help would be thankfully received... methinks it's a dealer issue??

It sounds to me like you had a defective immobiliser aerial, was this the case?
