Hi I just bought a 1989 jeep cherokee, THe brake go completly to the floor. The steering wheel is wobbly. First I was wondering if there was a rebuild kit for the steering. Second, THe person I got the jeep from said that the mechanic siad that a hydro somthing went bad and it would cost 1500.00 to fix. I would not think that there a part in the braking system that would cost this much unless it was brand new. I guess that the brakes cant be bleed because the air still gets in, To me this is a hole in the line or that master cyclender. One other ? is it possible to bypass the ABS and use the stock part, just use new lines. Thanks. :screwy:

If the steering is wobbly it usally is the tie rod ends maybe ball joints. Cost around 300 if you do it yourself. You can change the ABS system out for the conventional braking system. It is a lot of work can be done . Have to go to a Salvage yard and get the complete system with out ABS. Gone to cost a lot less than 1500. . Check with Chrysler some of the ABS componets are warranted for life. I think the part he is referinf to is the Hydraulic Control modulator . You can get much cheaper than 1500.
