LS7 Crate Engine

lol, it will be out in fall of 05, lol, these things are putting down 500hp stock? any ideas of what it could handle or how hard it would be to put one in a 4th gen camaro? i dont think these engines are on the street yet so i dont expect 100% correct numbers... just ball park it...

They are said to cost $16,000.
They should fit a late model F-Body. It is still LSx based.

GM had said 510HP...they didn't say where. There were several people with the LS1 powered SS Z-28's (rated at 305HP) that put their cars on a dyno and were surprised to find from 299-305HP...at the wheels.
With a 0-60 in the mid 3 second range on the 06 Z06...I'd bet on very close to 500 at the wheels.

Most LS1 cars put down 305-310 stock. Mine did.

yeah my boys wife just got a 2001ss and we dynoed it last week it put down 301, then we tuned it and got 315 so yeah its right, ive seen them lay down 280 its normal.

put one of those in my caprice, whoops i f*cking forgot, some loser stole it last night, thats right im taking the bus today

oh and the LS1 will also fit into the third gens, fbodymotorsports sells an install kit for that purpose.

as to the hp, keep in mind that the engines wont all put out the exact same hp, there is always production variation. so its entirely possible that if they are rating hp at 505 one of the engines could vary easily put out 512hp on a dyno.

yeah it got stolen, but luckily i got a phone call today, its in the impound yard cause the guy got it in a accident, i post pics of the damage within a week hopefully
