Gotta be careful with Tamiya Thinner...!!

OMG - Tamiya thinner is not very good for cleaning of a botched bit of paint on Tamiya TS sprays. I've just buggered up my S2000 side indicator, so thought - I'll wash it off with some thinner, as it was already tacky and water wouldn't remove it all..
What a total mistake.. Took the white, PLUS the yellow TS spray under neath.. Argh... Looked a total mess and I was like - Oh shittttttt..!!!!!!!!!
But, managed to bodge it back up again, and now my S2000 has orange side indicators with a black trim around it to simulate the indicator water seal rubber.. It was the only way to cover all the white primer up after the thinner had finished eating the paint away.. Not want I completely wanted, and my build is not meant to have orange indicators, but it does now. The reason I choose orange is that with the black trim, it looked scruffy in white, and orange just looked cleaner. Making the best of a bad error. An error by me, so no one to blame but myself really.
Learnt the hard way that tamiya acrylic thinner is lethal to TS paints.. I've attached a pic, and once the black rubber trim for the windows are done, I think I "might" get away with this.. How do a muck these models up so much. At least I've learnt.

Ack! That sucks dude... Not too hot for cleaning brushes though. I bought a big bottle and haven't used it since, the damn thing simply won't get the brushes clean. The Testor's brush cleaner gets em off right away!

I brought two cans of the yellow, but don't have a drop left.. I did think about getting another can and doing a panel repair, but it's not THAT bad. Once I get the window trim painted and the front lights that have black rubbers as well are dry fitted before final assembly if it looks bad I'll just go for a panel repair.
It was a mistake, I'm going to make them, as I've only built four models before this one. I feel a little stupid, but if I don't make mistakes then I'll not learn. I just won't apply thinner to a rag and try and wipe of paint again..

Nasty lesson to learn, but well saved. :)

Yeah I think they look okay mick. Could have been MUCH worse, i.e. strip and redo & that could have been costly considering you'd already bought two cans already!

I know - I learnt my lesson. Won't do that again. Thankfully I think I got away with it. Might not have been so lucky, but panic over. I'll be more careful next time.
