I'm not sure if a 89 GP has a body control module (BCM). I don't see a listing for it in my GM parts directory.

It does have a ECU/ECM/PCM. The BCM is normally a separate module.

For example on a 97 and up GP, the BCM is located under the driver's side dashboard. Good luck!

what else would cause my power locks, windows, dash, interior lights and blower motor to fail all at the same time. The fuses and relays are all working fine.

I still can't find any data as to whether your GP model and year has a BCM. If it were a later model the BCM would be a good starting point with the exception of the blower motor problem. I've never seen a BCM cause a blower motor problem.

In your case you might want to check into whether your ignition switch is defective. There are multiple contacts and also the car may start but you could have problems above.

Hey, I'm having some of the same problems as you did. Did you happen to find a solution? If so, please share. Thanks.

Check the underside of the underhood relay center. On older cars, especially if you live in an area that uses salt on the roads in the winter, the connections get corroded and cause many electrial gremlins. The other thing to check is the fuesable links that are attached to the Start/Battery post under the hood near the drivers strut tower. If one or more have corroded or if one is burnt, it's possible that all the functions are fed power from the burnt/corroded link. Good-luck.

There is more to it than that Rich. See link below. His BCM (1995 Grand Prix) and door lock problems started after installation of an aftermarket remote keyless entry system and alarm. Just FYI.

Hey Bob, I was answering the original poster, pothole6, and he specified his car was an '89. The post from bluewhite4 didn't specify a year, but thanks for the update.

Not a problem Rich. The original was posted July 2005. Bluewhite resurrected it due to his problem. Just wanted to keep you posted of all the facts and not any waste time. GTPDad and I have been working with him since yesterday. He sent me a PM. But you're welcome to weigh in. :bigthumb:
