Crashed my car

Hey all today around 2pm i spun out of controll and ended up in UC davis hospital until about 7o clock. It all started when i was doing 60 mph on a curve and didnt know how fast i was going, and of course i braked a lil and accidenly hit the island(curb).... afterwards was the most horrifying sight of my life. I thought my life would ended right there and then but my car swerved from the left lane to the right and then did a 180 and hit another island. My car would of flipped if i passed around 80mph but i was at 40mph after i braked. My 2 passanger wheels are broken and the axles are busted. I couldnt open my eyes afterwards, luckily a guy kept me awake by rubbing on my shoulder cause he saw it was stuck with the seatbelt. He kept telling me "wake up buddy". Soon after that the ambulace came. I smelt gasoline EVERYWHERE and thought my car was gonna blow but it didnt. The cop asked for my licences and etc after i regain consence (spell check?). I was rushed to the hospital and waited there for a while for Nothing. I still feel pain on my left arm and my leg but i know its just bruises and sprains. I have a question about all this: Will i get my Licenses back and how much would it cost to fix my car? lol i want to fix it and sell it for a camery. I learned my lesson. I think their gonna suspend my Licenses because i recently had a ticket 2 weeks ago and cleared it up at the court by pleaing for traffic school. Only thing is, i still havnt done traffic school because it was only a few days ago that i was at court. Im afraid my licenses would be suspended. I rather have my licenses back than my car, but lucky i have my life.

wow, thats bad news. you'll know soon if your getting a traffic sitation. they normally issue them through the mail after the police investigator is finished with the paper work. the best thing to do, if you havn't filled out a police statiment yet is to say you were going the required speed and blacked out untell you woke up and have no idea what happend. admiting fault give you no chance of getting out of it with a clean slate from the police. i learned that the hard way when i admeited fault in a major accedent. i went to cort and contested the reckless driving ticket i recived in the mail about 2 weeks after.

When the deputy called my name infront of the court to stand before the judge, the judge asked me where my lawyer was that in my file i clamed would be repersent me. i told the judge i couldnt afford him. and told him the accedent was 100% my fault, i was extreamy sorry it happend, and could not make ends meet with a $795 reckless driving ticket on my record. i told him i was in college and actually said to the judge "i'm throwing myself at the mecy of the cort". the judge looked at me for a couple seconds, then began to say "In 11 years I have never Once heard somone say that." he turned and asked the prosicuting attorny if he had a problem with reducing the charge, procicuter said nope. the judge followed by telling us to get together for 2 minuets and come up with somthing. i agreed to the procuters suggestion of a following to closely ticket for $80. Over and done in 5mins!

of course that was all a bullshit lie, and my family's atturny coached me through how to do everything the day before. but it work Really well!!

sorry to hear about that. tought break. been there

I can't see you losing your liscence for that unless they hit you with a racing or wreckless ticket. Those can weigh heavily around here. Otherwise causing accidents has nothing to do with losing your license (here), its still all about the number of surchargeable events you get. FOr example, I had two major accidents on my record, but still didnt lose my license until I hit the 7 events in 5 years mark. Unfortunately that same ticket was also the 3 speeding in one year, so I lost it again for the same ticket about 6 months later. First time for 30 days, second time for 60 days. I did also have to do the traffic school eariler on for 5 in 3 years. They gave me 90 days to do it IIRC. At any rate, a few years later I got the clean slate rule and dropped from 35 points (the max you can get, I got more tickets but no more points) to 14. I only have 3 tickets in the last 6 years but I'm a step 16 now. My point is that its possible to have a pretty bad driving record but still maintain your license, and over time it will clear up, as long as you learned your lesson, which it appears you have.

Good luck with it.

Sorry about all this, glad you're alright. Make sure you get all the things you think are only sprains checked out, that stuff can come back and haunt you when you're older.

It's way too easy to lose control. When I was 18 I spun my first car, a '69 Olds with a 455*, on the highway James Dean died on, at night. Ended up in the oncomming lane, hella burned rubber glowing red as it drifted up in a long cloud over my brake lights. I drive like a pussy now. No accidents, no tickets, never even been pulled over. You can have fun with a turbo car and be safe. If you decide to risk it, things just go bad that much faster. Hope things work out whether or not you keep the gs-t. I think you'll keep the license, but again, be more worried about your health and make sure you're alright. Whiplash is a bitch.

Scotsee: You scandelous bastard. Awesome story.

Kevin: What's up with the driving record? I always imagined you were very responsible.

Hey thanks for the help you guys.. it really does make me feel better. I am convinced to go back to the hospital now thanks to gsx hooptie saying that it will haunt me later on lol and cause my gf will whoop my ass if i dont. My wrist only hurts if i put alot of pressure on it but now its just normal.

Good thing youre okay bro...sometimes accidents can have an aftermath of something so much worse than even death. Stay safe and drive like me (so slow that 4-banger Camry grandma's flip me off). lmao.

you won't lose your licence if all you have is a speeding ticket and spining out of contorl. again unless its a racing or wreckless driving.

I've had 4 accidents, totalled 2 cars, 1 was mine. 2 speeding tickets, and a DUI, and a leaving the scence of an accident.

And i still have a licence and still drive TURBO DSM. needless to say i drive like a grandma now adays, as i'm on probation right now. I won't race nobody for nothing, i won't even chrip tires, nothing.

sucks for your car but i'm glad you are OK. In my experience, crashing your own car is not a crime unless you tell them you were doing something wrong (speeding, drunk, etc..) Pull something like scottsee did.

Your wrist is probably fine, I'd worry more about your back and neck. That's pretty fragile and important stuff. UCD is a good hospital, get a doc to check you out.

sorry to hear about it dude, hope you get better,

and about your car if its not to bad you can fix it, or if youre thinking about selling it tell me so i can take a look at it.I need some parts if your gonna part it out, or if your gonna sell it all.

Wow dude....that is some shitty stuff. Hope everything goes ok.

Why stop driving DSM's? You can still drive responsible in a turbo car, just keep your foot off the gas when you need to. Self control. Keep the gs-t if it's fixable, or take the insurance money and get another. Keep the wrecked one for parts that you might want, and sell ones you know you won't ever want or need. Driving a camry would suck, but you would probably save money in the end.

Wow man sorry to hear that...that sucks balls....I wrecked my old civic and the cop didn't give me a ticket or anything.....but I got off lucky, it all depends on the cop and what he thinks you were doing wrong. I don't do any reckess shit on city streets, scared enough from the civic.....But the important thing is you are O.K.

Kevin: What's up with the driving record? I always imagined you were very responsible.

Well, I am now because I'm an old bastard at 27 years of age. 10 years ago was another story now ;) The tickes on my record now are all from 2001 and before. One is a no inspection sticker (yeah that still goes on the record and increases insurance cost), and the two speedings are a couple miles over the limit and minimum fine. They'll start to drop off soon... Actually the no sticker is only about a year old. I had a real hard time finding someone that would put a sticker on the 2g in its final state of tune before demodding and selling it, plus I had just dropped the motor in the damn thing. Expired in november, and I get caught driving it in like march, but after it was only running for a week since it expired. Weak. Cops are touchholes about this stuff up here.

I'm really sorry to hear that. That sucks i had the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago in my 3000GT. I didn't lose my license nor get a ticket for reckless driving. But he did give me a a ticket for failure to do care which was a 140 dollar ticket. But i know how you feel about being afraid of the car. After i wrecked my car i found another 3000GT and was going to get it but when i when to test drive it froze up in the car, the dealer actually had to help me out of the car cause i freaked out once i sat down in it.

see, now think about how much faster you would have goten to your destination if you where going 30mph :icon16:

...but i do wish you the best as far as your recovery goes. But all i have to say is....when you fall down....you have to get back up. falling down is apart of learning, things that dont kill you make your stronger.

so now you know what happenes when you lose control at high speeds, it aint fun lol. i know i been in a wreck on damn near anything with tires.

had a motorcycle wreck at 65mph once, damn thing bounced off of my back while i was unconcious :smokin:, that didnt stop me from geting back on. ( after 3 months of recovery and moveing like frankinstein all stiff and shit ).

i guess im saying it will suck to lose you as a fellow DSM'er, none the less i hope all goes well for you form now on

That sucks...For both you and the car. For the most part, unless you told the cop that you were doing something wrong, there's not much they can pin you with, but I may be wrong. However, I do know that you need to go to the hospital about the neck and head thing. Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean you haven't done serious damage, my mom works in a hospital (in X-Ray as a matter of fact) and she sees plenty of accident victims who feel fine in their back and neck and head, but have serious problems. Just get it checked out to be on the safe side.

Car is officially for sale. I saw it today and i dont want to deal with it. The 2 passanger axles are gone. The passanger-rear wheel broke off and bent the rotor, brake, and everything else attatched to it. Everything else is "A" ok. Best offer tows it out lol. Oh yeah does any1 knows how much my car is worth? It has around 114k miles and just got its timeing belt/water pump etc done a month ago and not even 200 miles since it was done.

Extras with the car: (already installed)
HKS bov
upper/lower intercooler pipes
Greddy Turbo timer
OBX boost gauge
Front and rear strut bars

The car has Leather seats, all power accessories (except seats..well i dont know), sunroof, has some scratches on the rear bumper, and the car still runs.

Selling whole car for 1500.

Your practically giving the damn thing away man. I personally would part it out, you would get twice as much for it.
