my intrigue 2002 120000km have been checked,the code is p0420, p0442,what is the problem? and When I turn slightly left there is a pitched squeak/whine coming from the front drivers side of my vehicle.

The codes you are getting are odb-ii emissions related.
P0420 is "Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold"
P0442 is "EVAP Emission Control System Leak (small)"
On the 420 it means you CAT convertor is operating below efficiency. The rear 02 sensor is what detects CAT convertor efficiency. I've seen 420 caused by a either CAT, front 02 sensor or rear 02 sensor.
442 means you have a small leak in the evaporative emissions system. Could be a leak someplace in the lines from the engine to the evaporative cannister and gas tank.
I don't they are related to the sound you're getting.
