is there a diffence between a 429 that came froma thunder bird or is it the same as all other 429s? i know somebody thats giving me one from a 71 thunder bird. what might be the HP rating on it?

if that 71 has the dreamy thunderjet it should put out 360-380 according to the manufacturers specs, but in those days detroit was low balling their hp to satisfy insurance companies and the feds.

Although it says Thunderjet it's the same as all passenger car/truck 429's.
Not all 429's are the same cause you do have CJ and SCJ.

If yours is stock you got a Thunderjet caue that is all the T-birds got for 429's..
