first run was the fastest
60ft-2.3782
1/8 ET-9.6796
1/8mph-73.78
1/4 ET-14.7868
1/4mph-96.59
second run was 14.85 at a whopping 98.47mph.Third run was [email protected] ([email protected]) had a passenger on the last run.
I am very happy now.Not bad for a home brewed $1500 setup.I had alotta ppl ask me if I was runnin an SR20 http://www.ka-t.org/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif ...They were all surprised when I told them it was a KA http://www.ka-t.org/forums/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif They were even more surprised when I told them the motor has almost 160k mi on it! http://www.ka-t.org/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Also on the way to the track I smashed a GSR swapped Del Slow and after the drags were over I shut down my buddy in his LS/VTEC Integra.

sorry but i must say that im kinda dissapointed with the runs...i honestly didnt think that an stock sr motor would school a ka-t that bad...dont take that as doggin on your runs...just that i would say something...what do most ka-t's produce rwhp #'s on top of that what type of turbo set up are you running T3 turbo?
driftking777
07-02-2005, 06:22 PM
just a follow up...i really need to run at the 1/4 track about 2 hours from here...i think i would be hoping for low 13's or high 12's

my stock sr...besides intercooler and exhaust is running a 8.8 in the 1/8 at 83mph....like my sig says...and like i said before i wasnt knocking the run or anything like that i just thought that ka-t pulled off some crazy stuff becuase of the torque advantage over the sr....sorry if it was misinterpreted

the Stock SR is a high 14 Second car.
the T25 will take you into the 12s... but your MPH will be trash.
your engine is clean... but you can tell its got some miles from your Ubar Blowby... unless you've had those breather lines for 4 years.

Well fellas,I ran my car again
my last run was my best which was at 4:30am this morning...http://www.ka-t.org/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
60 ft - 2.2450
1/8 ET - 9.2790
1/8mph - 78.55
1/4 ET - 14.2699
1/4mph - 99.03
The car ran like a champ most of the night. There was one time I missed 3rd and i still ran a 15.1!
Remember,I'm still running that dinky hairdryer and a FMU...I wanna dip into the 13's before summer is over.I'm saving the 12's for next year http://www.ka-t.org/forums/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif
Yes FMU.I'mma try to get 600cc injectors and an enthalpy tune before summer is over and challenge my buddy with his SR swapped silvia clone. His best was a 13.5...
and Yea Cory,Imma continue haulin ASS!!!

I'm running a straight T3 .42/.48ar.I got it from a salvage yard...
I also got a question for you,How much did spend on your SR swap?

honestly i didnt buy the sr...i was unfortuate in not being able to do the swap myself...i found a decent deal on my car for 7g's...i personally think for the condition my car is in and the stuff that have been done to the car that it is a decent price...anywho...i like the 14.2 run alot better...that seems to be what a t3 should be running...and like i said before i wasnt trying to knock your car...just thought it would have been faster...sorry

I went with internal WG because that is how I got the turbo.I stuck with it because it saved me some money and it is also adjustable.I will upgrade in the future to a Tial 38mm and stuff a 3in DP in there.
I dont really like it,I mean it works and all but it is not perfect.Every once in awhile I get the dreaded boost creep...

I want to hit 13's before summer is over, but I would rather do it on street tires.I also want to go more than 100mph in the 1/4mi.
Earlier today,I raced a prelude.I couldn't tell if the guy said he was running a h22 or f22.Either way,it was an easy win for me:evillol::evillol::evillol:

i got a question for fanatic and ghost, what RPM are you guys launching with your open differentials at? just curious and what clutch are you using. I think that is awesome setup with stock MAFS and runing a 14.2! The stock TT VR4 runs a 14.2, that means you damn fast with a 1500$ setup, nice job!

I launch at about 4k give or take a lil. From my understanding, its best to launch at peak torque. I do a quick slip of the clutch as not to slip too much and have a weak launch but also not too quick to bog. If I encounter wheelspin, I let off teh gas real quick and then back on it. Wathc the ultimate KA-T video and watch Duy run. Thats what I do.
Since my boost is back up at 11, I'll try adn get out to the track this saturday and get some 13s in.

I launch at the same RPM as nissanfanatic, but if I start to get some wheel spin I keep going on the throttle and feather the clutch instead.
I'm running a stock replacement clutch.I'll prolly go RPS when I need it:)

preludes are pretty slow of what the power they're supposed to be putting down... an h22 is supposed ot be like 205hp or something... yet it barely runs a 15.. oh well, they weigh a lot I guess..
TatII
07-06-2005, 05:10 PM
i wouldn't consider running mid to low 15's and trapping over 90mph to be barely in the 15's. running a 16 flat to high 15 is barely in the 15's. and preludes make from 190-200hp.

damn you launch at 4k on open diff. I cant launch at 3k on open diff without getting serious wheelspin, but that tire is getting pretty damn bald maybe thats why. It just burns up that one tire whahhahaha the "one wheel peel". Or the "one tire fire", as i personaly like to call it. But i havent really been trying to perfect a certain rpm launch yet, i need to change my brake pads so i dont drive it that much. THey squeel like a pig getting slaughtered. Most embarrassing/annoying thing is squeeky ass brakes. Everyone looks at you at the light and is just like wow, midas is right there why dont to whip on in and take care of that.

lol chuki.
for me personally, i usually go just short of 3k. theres nothing like the feeling of a good ass launch in my slow ass car. makes me feel fast. :)

Yea if I launch anything lower then that I kinda bog.I feel comfortable lanching at 4k.Plus 225-50-16 Eagle RS-As kinda help too after doing a burnout to get em sticky :)
nissanfanatic
07-07-2005, 07:23 PM
Burnouts never help me any. I just go around the burnout box(AKA where they spray water) and do a dry burnout to get any water/gravel off of my tires. Nothing big. Prolly WOT peel out for 1-2 seconds. Also you guys have to realize that VHT is some serious shit. Its way better than launching on the street. On my first run last night, when I was rolling to the starting line, I hear this scckkkkkk noise. I was like "oh shit, whats wrong with my car?!?!?!" I hear it from the four corners of my car. It was my tires sticking to the ground.lol
