Found one for a good price actually going to look at it after the weekend, I'm just wondering how reliable these rigs are plus if there is anything I should look out for when checking it out...
Thanks!
Thanks!

If the car is up in snow areas, check the frame and rocker panels for rust, as well as the rear quarter panels for rust(look up from under the wheelwell and see if there are any holes). Definately check out the trunk, and make sure the carpet is there, or if there is a moldy smell or rust starting. Rust is a troubled spot on the Nissans, but if you stop it early it won't be too bad. As far as the engine, it's pretty bulletproof. I would check the clutch and make sure it engages properly without slipping, and make sure the exhaust has no leaks, and smell the exhaust fumes to make sure the cat is ok. Other than that, just look around and see if it looks like the engine bay has been washed recently, that usually means there is an oil leak they are trying to clean up, or look to make sure the alternater or anything else isn't covered in oil. Maybe Fugiot can add some advice as to what else to check for.
Oh and I would check out the air filter, just see how dirty it is to get a sense of how well the previous owners took care of it.
Thanks!

I'd check for saggind doors from old door hinges, and bad CV boots/joints. Check for clicking when you take a sharp turn.

Yee I knew all zee basic stuff, just wondering if there is anything problematic with these cars that I really should look out for at this time!
Thanks!

yeah, like we said...the weak points are the clutch, cv boots/joints, sagging doors, and underbody rust.

Also another question, did the 200sx's come with lsd's like the Sentra's did?

yup, 95-97 SE-R's did. The 98 did not for some reason.

im pretty sure the '98 200sx SE-R's came with and lsd also. according to this review: http://www.automotive.com/1998/43/nissan/200sx/reviews/walkaround/index.html
it says the '98's had em.
can someone confirm this for me? im looking at buying one too.

I am 100% sure the 98's did not. Sorry I can't provide a link, but it's just an old fact in my head.

Limited Slip Differential. It transfers power left and right. Depending on which front wheel is losing grip, it sends more power to the other wheel with more grip.
