I have a 1998 ford expedition , eddie baur edition. I am having trouble getting the back subwoofer out . I took all screws out , and can rotate it around the hole, but cant pull it out. Does anybody have any suggestions.

there is probably a screw in the back of the box screwed into the back of the sub

You will need to remove the enclosure from the side of the vehicle. Then, There is a bolt that goes into the speaker magnet from the backside of the subwoofer box. Loosen that bolt, and the woofer will come out of the box.

Do you have to remove the entire panel, or go through the jack opening?

You have to remove the entire panel from the side of the vehicle, then there are about 4 screws that hold the subwoofer box to the truck. Plan on about an hour or so to remove everything.

Thanks! I did it yesterday and it was a bear. Now I have to find a replacement speaker. Other than dealer OEM, is there a better upgrade alternative aftermarket speaker out there???

Check out www.partsexpress.com . If you stay with the stock amplifier, look for something in the 35 watts to 50 watts range. Shouldn't cost more that about $20.00 + shipping.
