in the driver's wheel well.
take the tire off, remove the plastic liner, it's on the firewall side of the whell well.

very - uses standard Ford plastic 'r-clips'

It was pretty easy....The biggest pain in the butt was removing the inner fender liner. I hate them things! I replaced the sway bar bushings at the same time so the filter seemed like a cakewalk.
