I never figured out how to really drift well in GT4, I assume that I use the e-brake and drop the gears, but I son't know when. I sometimes get it initially but then I spin out. Any help? I know all the driving asistants should be off as well.

right , you must have a problem there.
here are my answers
1. 13
2. since it was out in uk (so you had it longer)
3. all the series since the day it came out.
try this.
get your car and put on road tyres (economy)
go to car tune and put all LSD settings to minimum.
try tapping the e-brake while pressing the directional button and accelerate full on.
when your car starts to turn too much just turn the other way until you are straight and you will be fine.
i will get a video soon to show you so i might need your e-mail adress (pm?)

lol Chris I don't know wtf those questions had to do with helping him but I'll give it a try since I'm like a effin expert at the GT4 drift.
- suspension
-negative camber on the front wheels, about 4 degrees will do
-spring needs to be a bit firm, but squishy enough to allow good
weight transfer. I say about 10ish in the front, 6-8ish in the back.
-drop the ride height low, like a bit above the lowest
- gearing
-use the auto gearing thingy and put it at 6-8 depending on how turny
the track is
- tires
-depends on how powerful the car is. the stock tires will work fine to
just get a general feel of the car moving sideways. I myself like using
staggered racing tires. Example, on my drift Evo, I have racing
mediums up front, and racing hards in the back.
- driving assists
-turn the ASL understeer all the way up and the oversteer down. It'll
help the car easliy drift. I might have that backwards but you'll get
what I mean.
- technique
-you can actually search up some drift sites that'll give you all the
different drift techniques, most of which can be applied in GT4.
-the parituclar techniques I sometimes use is power over and feint
drift. Power Over is simple, just take your normal racing line and lay
into the turn full throttle until the ass slides out and countersteer
accordingly.
-Feint Drift is when the you steer the car towards the opposite
direction of the turn, the shaprly whip the car back over in the turn,
using momentum and weight transfer to break the tires loose.
Hope that gets you on the right track, class is now over kids.

it's actually really satisfying to perform a braking drift instead of initiating with the ebrake or using the power. Just throw on some N tires, lower the Decel LSD setting to it's minumum, and up the Brake controller a little bit.
hard braking, downshift, turn in sharp, and accel + countersteer to control the drift. ^^v let off on the accel to regain traction...

yes, learning is the way to goo. Plus put ALLLL assists on 0!
Then just learn it the wright way: practicing. Xevenskyline. I read all of yr tips and i bet yr the master of fake drifting and sliding. Don't wander around with such a big mouth. Yr wrong about couple of things.
Don't drift with racing tires, not fun, no REAL feeling.
Again, put all driving assist on ZERO
Stabilizers on one
Never go further then 3 at the fron wheels for negative camber. It's just not usefull anymore behind that point.
....(not a master myself but i go along way now)
Maybe you guys should visit www.gtplanet.net
Go to GT4, message board and then let yrselves drown into cars and GT4 Knowledge.

Yea I know about the driver assists thing, I used it for the longest just to get used to the feeling of the car being sideways and being able the judge when you've gotten to big of an angle, you can hear the tires giving that really high pitched scream and either you're gona spin out or lose a hell of alot of speed. So yea you're right, but he was having problems drifting so I told him about the ASM understeer to use it like a training wheels sort of manner. About the big mouth thing, there once was a saying that goes "It aint braggin if you can do it". I'm not a cocky person but I do know a shitload about drifting so if I run at the mouth about that kinda thing its because I know what I'm doing.

i know this is cheap, and will prolly be bashed for this, but if you drive flat out along the walls of the lisence tests or w/e you will win with gold each time.
