1993 C1500 overheating

I have a 1993 Chevrolet C1500 extended cab. I just had the AC charged and serviced a couple of weeks ago after having new alternator installed. Today, only moments ago, after driving for approximately 45 minutes at 65mph with AC on, after pulling into driveway, sitting idling for approximately 5 minutes, the engine overheated. Coolant was bubbling in the reservoir but not overflowing out onto the ground.

Does anyone have any ideas where I need to start looking for problems. Water pump was replaced approximately a month ago. I am thinking I need to replace thermostat and electronic thermostatic control switch, but not sure if that will solve the problem.

Have driven the same distance, speed, and traffic pattern all week with no problems.

Any suggestions, I am :banghead:. Thanks

RickEB

Thermostat, fan clutch, dirty condensor coil, clogged radiator. I assume the coolant was replaced when the pump was done.

The thermostat should have been replaced when the pump went in.

Check the fan clutch and look for bugs/leaves blocking the a/c condensor.

If it has an auxillary fan for the ac, I would check and make sure its working as well
