Ok... I posted before asking for someone with a parts car if they would please sell me a rear driverside axle. It has been a month without a car. 1gGsx said he would sell me one and on his way to get it his turbo blew and I havnt been able to get ahold of him since. There has to be someone on here that would have one. Ill pay for the item along with shipping. Help a fellow dsmer out. I really need this axle so someone please help me out. Also the axle is two parts right? A right rear axle and left? I talked to a local garage and they said it was one but Im pretty sure its two parts. Anyhow... Someone please help me out here.
Again I need the rear driverside axle... Someone...Please!

Did you check ebay yet? There are constantly people parting out cars on there, and you can probably find that shit cheap because theres not exactly a huge market for those type of parts. You might also have some luck checking out local junk yards. Good luck, I know what it's like not being able to drive your car for what seems like forever...

Well, I just got a 99 Eclipse RS, and as luck would have it, it's been sitting in a parking lot for about 3 YEARS!!!

So, the timing belt is bad. The fuel filter needs to be replaced. The tires have deflated a little. The battery will need replacing. All this, and I don't know how anything else will work once the car is eventually started.

Do I A)part it out, not having anywhere to store it if I choose this option, AND I don't have all the tools/knowledge to take it apart or B)fix it, and risk some money to see if I can make a free car with about $3500 worth of work turn into a $5000 car????

How does any of what you said have anything to do with this thread. You would have been better off making a new one, rather than jacking someone elses and making them sort through the responses. Newbs these days....

It made sense to ME at the time. But I guess I was thinking that since the subject is "parts car" and I have a potential... it worked. I'll bet that the guy that started this thread is glad I posted.

I find it kind of hard to believe that the original creator of this thread is "happy" you posted what you did. He would have been if you were offering the part he needs, not asking us what you should do about your broken ass car.

You said yourself that you really have no knowledge of parting out cars, and not even sure if you want to do that. And if you did decide to offer the part he needs, your car would then be un-driveable, and you would be forced to part out the remains of the car, even though you don't know how. Therefor, I stand by my previous post.

eclipse is right cochese, you shouldn't jack someones thread. if it would have helped him out any then it would be ok to post, but what you said didnt help him out at all. just so you know for the future.

May I suggest the next post be relevant to the initial question... The debate on whether it was right or wrong is just as irrelevant as the idiot that posted it. I suggest everyone asks a friend of a friend 'cause someone out there has the part. As 4g63's brother i know i've called every junkyard in the area, checked every automotive store, talked to all of my friends, and there's no hope. DAMMIT! I WISH NOW I DIDN'T LOCK UP HIS TRANSFER CASE(which snapped the axle). Let this be a lesson to everyone who hasn't had the recall done to their AWD's.
