got pulled over for 4 days straight!!!

yeah you heard me, i've been pulled over for 4 days straight. everytime was for an aftermarket exhuast in random places!!! damn you mayor bloomberg!! this mayor is a freaking pain in the ass!! he cracking down this so hard, hes also planning to ticket people for driving coffee on teh subway, putting bags on a unoccupied seat, and putting feet on the seat in the train!!! this guy is such a freaking ass.

anyways i was lucky enough to get away with 3 of the tickets, that is until today. now i have to deal with 2 summon's, 1 for after market exhuast, 2 unnesccary engine noise. now i'm forced to put a damn silencer on my car. however test driving it today with it on, the car sounds almost stock but the thing still freaking pulls!!! i was able to get the rear squiqqly when i shift from 1st to 2nd gear with my 255mm wide tires. so i guess its a good thing, and if i absolutely have a planed race, i would just pull the silencer off.

just as warning to anyone in the nyc area thats all, even my friend with his stock SRT-4 got pulled over and ticketed for his stock exhuast. this is very common with srt-4's in nyc. did i mention damn mayor bloomberg!!!??

You better watch out cause next thing you know you'll be ticketed for having a to0n3r3d type car.

People are getting pulled over with stock cars for exhaust? thats ridiculous. Half of those cops drive harleys anyways that are 10X louder than 90% of cars out there. I have a greddy sp2, the thing is it's almost as quiet as a stock exhaust, and i still get pulled over and ticketed all the time. It really chaps my ass you know.

Do they pull over Camaro SS and Mustang Cobras too? Those got pretty loud exhausts stock, not to talk about aftermarket.

Some cops in my area are just biased. They pull over a speeding 67 camaro and admire his car, then they turn around and pull over a lowered civic hatch for "illegal lights" or "unnecessary engine noise". Camaro running open headers goes scott free, while the import with a full exhaust gets ticketed. How does that work? Theres a crazy bias against imports here, dunno bout NY.

sounds pretty shitty to me, write a letter to someone in the local gov't. stock exhausts shouldnt be getting pulled over.

well locally here is like 10 million people. haha theres not enough of us to change anything. also the SRT-4 guys just has to go to court to prove that their exhuast is stock and they'll get away scott free too.

I guess you get a little mroe respect for buying an obnoxious piece of machinery that serves no performance purpose than building a car that serves a performance purpose. Meanwhile the harley is louder stock than our "Sewing machines," are with full 3" exhaust with no cat. Hmmmm strange. Smells like bullshit to me.

It happens, lots of cops don't know what is stock what isn't. SRT-4's aren't the quietest thing on the road in stock form.

I can see where one could assume it's not stock.

Big deal, that's an easy ticket to get out of. You've got all the proof you need.

my ex g/f's dad got pulled over in his 350z with just a stock exhaust....he fought it though and won...no harm done...just a waste of his time..

I'm just glad the cops in Az don't give a damn about that shit at all. Noise ordinance doesnt seem to be an issue at all here...you wanna blast your stereo, go ahead, you wanna run open exhaust on a 5.0, have at it. The cops just ignore most of it here. They just have a really bad habit of shooting ppl is all. I suppose it's a small price to pay for the freedom of modded cars...ugh.

NYC cops better not come around my town...lifted trucks with 350's, 350's stroked to 383's, 454's, even a few 502's with striaght pipes, 3" ID tubing and 5" tips....then just for kicks and giggles while driving under the overpasses they kick it into neutral and tach it a few times (bring it to the rev limit). loud as chit and it is very rare one of them gets a ticket, and if they do it is usualy for no catalytic converter, not noise violation. probably because the cops did the same thing when they where teens.

i honestly do think that cops do profile certain cars. i don't think i've ever seen a v8 get pulled over for noise, but i always see imports get pulled over.

They just have a really bad habit of shooting ppl is all.
