Another 97 Jimmy Problem, please help!

Hi there, my Jimmy is giving me soo many problems lately!! Ive pretty muc fixed everything including Ignition Switch, transmission, gaskets, oil leaks, ball joints... all the usual stuff, but now I have a problem which Im not too sure about. For about 3 weeks now my engine is makine a weird whining sound consistent to the rpms... When it started doing this is when I noticed my ignition switch needed changing... Also engine might have been on low oil.. Has anyone had that problem or had it solved?? Also since then my battery charge seems to be not at the usual 14 but at the line below at around 12?? Does anyone know what I can do?? Thanks!

Are you sure that the whine isn't coming from the alternator? Sounds like it is bad. You can take the alternator to most parts stores and they will test it for free.
