About 3 days ago i was driving up a drive way to work and every few feet my truck would just lock up and jolt and would make this clicking sound. Thought it was my u joints so we decided to jack up the back and see what was really wrong everything seemed fine turn the wheels both spin turn the drive shaft every thing would spin right and then it locked up. Had it towed home and just got it out last night removed the cover and fluid poured out, thought i blew the seal ends up there where 3 gear teeth laying in the rear looked into it further to find out they came off the pinion.

Now heres my question will 87 rear from 2.8 s15jimmy fit into a 89 4.3, and are there any additives that i should put into the rear if it does work out? Another question is that i have some cragars off of an el camino and they have 275 wide tires on them, id wouldnt think that they would hurt it considering i see people shoving 20" wheels that are just as wide or wider on the stock rear. Any help would be great and does any one know where i can find a posi, lsd rear for it, i heard that a rear from any year blazer or extreme will fit and i can get on for about 400 from my neighbor with disc brakes, not sure how true it is but any help would be great thanks in advance.

and my sig is mainly directed to the many mustang drivers who think they have the most badass car on the planet.

The rear from the newer s10 will fit (2wd yes, 4x4 no), but you will have to rig up the parking brake and change your proportioning valve to a rear disc one. The 87 will fit (2wd to 2wd yes, 4x4 to 4x4 yes) but the gears will be different. The wheels might fit, depends on back spacing.
