2001 Mercury Cougar

I have a 2001 Mercury Cougar. V6 5 spd. Had the fuel pump replaced due to the recall. Prior to this, I changed the EGR valve, the EGR Vacuum Salenoid, DPFE sensor, Fuel Filter, All plugs and wires. I was STILL getting a bad bucking / hesitation and Throttle hang. Recently the CEL came on, had the code read, it was a P1120, which the guy then told me it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I consulted a mechanic, he advised me to take that sensor off and clean it with a q-tip, which I did. Later, I learn the P1120 code is the Throttle Position Sensor. I took this off, but put it back on. The car ran fine for about a day and a half, then it started acting up again. NOW the CEL is blinking, and the engine is shaking vigorously, I don't have any loss in power what-so ever. Any Ideas????

Personally, I wouldnt have touched the MAF wires with a q-tip. The wires that measure the airflow are very sensitive. Most people just take some carb cleaner and spray the MAF to get any oil residue off of it and let it air dry.

If your CEL is blinking, that indicates a misfire. Check your plug wires and make sure they are all securely fastened to the coil pack and to the spark plugs.

I have checked the wires, all is tightened. I went ahead and ordered the wires, I'll just replace them all. Yeah, the OBD stated Cylinder 2 was misfiring...which one is this...in the back middle, right?

Update: Changed all plugs and plug wires. Still misfire on Cylinder 2. The misfire caused the Ignition Coil to go bad. Replaced the coil, runs like a beauty again :).
