car was stolen

well last night my sister left at 10 to walmart get me some gatorade for work and i was like shit i need getmy clock out of my car cause i was gonna stay at a friends house but he wasnt home so i go ou to my car at 10:15 to find out it was gone so i made a report they call me this morning say they found my car and it pretty much stripped down to nothing....so i am shit out of luck cause i wasnt gonna put full coverage on it till it got painted in 3 months....well have to get going bye

i got lucky when someone tried to steal my crx. it was 3 in the morning and my roomate happened to be awake and heard something outside. he opened his window and they ran. there was glass everywhere and it looked lie they were about to break the steering column. the cop that came to my house said"yea, hondas are always stolen here in Tempe(AZ). He made it sound like it was my fault. A few days later,my wifes 02 civic almost had her si rims stolen nfrom her car. they had all the lugnuts off(did not realize till morning) and bricks under the car. again, my roomate was awake and scared them away. bad thing, she did not notice the lugnuts gone and almost drove away with our kids. that would have been bad. I wish I had seen them. i hate theives. they should have strict laws punishing those who steal. no probation shit. JAIL TIME. theives make it so our insurance is so high we dont get it to save a few bucks a month. both my cars have full coverage. too many break ins in my life.

someone broke into my crx in a parking lot in broad daylight. They broke my driver side lock and attempted to steal the radio...the alarm went off and scared them away but they managed to mangle my dash..they left the face plate on the passenger seat and stole nothing so I got lucky....that's why I carry a 9mm just in case I catch one :)

why the fuck does very one always fuck with crx's, people have tried to brake in too mine lots of times i've had my car shot at, drivers side window broke twice, and once they even broke my winshield once.

because they know that people put nice things into them , radios and aftermarket stuff they like, and if they can get the whole car that's even better, my alarm sets the kill on the ignition so hopefully if someone attempts that on my car, it'll take them too long for it to be worth it.

I always put on my pedal lock and alarm, and park in a public place where people usually pass by. i do this all th e time. no exceptions. even the most clever robbers can be in your neighborhood or the safest areas.

ya pretty damn pissed...picked up my car earier...they literally put stock struts and springs on my car...those wonderful black stealies....stole my hood, sunroof, ukdm cluster...i swear i fine these fookers there gonna die whether they recieved it or stole it from me....

yea i agree, full coverage is the way to go but some pay more than the car is worth on insurance because it is a high risk car. i am guilty of not having an alarm. does anyone have a suggestion? i want something with a battery or fuel cut off so at least if they want to steal something they cant tae the car and take their time stripping it.Fuck, everytime i see a thread on this it makes me so pissed

can't you get an alarm with the remote that lets you know when someone is messing with your car?

i know there was one back in the day that would let you now on your beeper. if they had one for your cell phone, that would be great. i dont know if it beeped for false alarm like if someone drove by with a loud stero. that would get annoying. Is viper still a good brand of alarm?( i have not hade one in a while)

Yea, public places... Even public places are not safe. I had my 89 Cherokee broken into and it was parked right in front of the doors at the mall here, someone busted the drivers window which was in plain sight, took $1000 worth of stereo equipment and even popped my hood to take my $300 alarm system I mean wtf is that? Went to the police and they said if a bunch of people see it they ignore it thinking someone else will report it. I’ve always thought of getting an alarm/pager or something kind of like lowjack so I can just run out there and scare the bastards.

ya...my friend thats knows people that steal cars said its only time ross before you see it on there car...so just wait it out and you get some of it back...cause like shit who ever seen my car on cardomain...anything i have on my car gonna stick out here in modesto none these fookers her know how to fix there cars up right....specially my carbon fiber sunroof....being number one county in the united states for stolen cars aint so much better either...why i cant afford full coverage...they wanted 250 a month for me....alarm pointless they got passed it

its tru tho we all should have alarms on all our cars no matter how bad your car is there is always some one that wants some thing off someone elses car.thats why i love my alarm it goes off if you look at it wrong...lol... thats why even with all the times they have tried to brake into my car all they ever get to do it brake a window.knock on wood!!

Besides my already over sensitive alarm w/kill switch. I've always played with the notion of installing a key type switch that'd cut the power to the ECU. Figured they can't drive with out the ECU getting power. I know all they'd have to do is find the switch and connect the wires in the back to complete the circuit, but at least it'll take them a little longer.

Question, would it hurt the engine to try and start it with out power to the ECU? Never tried it.
