Right now, my car is running SUPER rich, while....yes we all know that that is safe...it's not making the power the car could be making
I was thinking about an SAFC, but I heard that its worthless for the SR20DET.
I heard many people just have their ecu's flashed.
I'm definitely leaning toward the ecu flash. THe car could do much better with some sort of ecu flash and tuning.
It starts leaning out at 6000 rpm and you get this surge of power.
Any suggestions?

im pretty sure what he is saying is while at idle or cruising rpm...his car is probably running like 14/1 ratio and when he gets his car moving pretty good aka 6'g' rpm its sucking fuel enough to be back down to 12.1 or around there...yea figure if you get your ecu reprogrammed its 500 bucks for an enthalpy one and if you do later mods it costs only 125 to redo it...

Its probably leaning out at 6k because voltage to the fuel pump is dropping. Or you may still have the stock pump(which isn't a bright idea at all).
How are you sure its running rich? BTW, running really rich isn't safe either. Too much fuel washes oil off the cylinder walls causing increased cylinder wear.
Check for a boost leak.
And list your mods please. Its hard to know whats wrong when you don't know what it is....

I don't think I'm running really rich. Plus, running rich is better than running too lean. Most cars run rich stock for protection purposes. My car has these mods.
Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust
Greddy Downpipe
HKS adjustable cam gears
Apex'i intake
That's all the power mods that I have. Maybe it could be the cams need tuning cause the timing may be off? Possibly advance the timing on the intake and retard the timing on the exhaust.

How do you know its running rich?
If you dont have a fuel pump. thats why... and your about to fuck your ringlands.
SAFCs are more of a bandaid than a fix... that being said they do work well for what they are.
An T25 SR20 with a surge of power at 6000 RPM
