ok i have a 90 civic dx body,mpfi swap,d15b7 block and d16z6 head,d16a6 intake,d16a6 ecu and d16a6 distibutor,
on the d15b7 block theres a bolt above the oil filter, but in my year car theres 2 plugs that go to a sensor i think it might be the knock sensor but im not sure...am i supposed to take this sensor out of the old block(d15b2) and put it in my d15b7 block for the swap?? it has 2 plugs in the wiring harness(the wiring harness is mpfi harness from dx and si) and the sensor on the old motor has 2 prongs 1 red n 1 black...
and for my second question i heard you can run vtec from a switch with out buying a vtec controller??how does this work?? ive read up on it and the only info i can find on it is its a bad idea??any info would help me out plz ~(my car is obd0)thanx marcus~

Well marcus, running vtec off a switch is a bad idea, why you ask? Because Honda programmed it to come on at a certain time that optimizes power production, and screwing with it without tuning the fuel and ignition on a dyno to insure you are making power and staying inside a good A/F ratio is not good.
On another note, the D series don't use knock sensors
they are probably for the EGR, but if you told us the colors of the wires it would be easier, but the DX is not MPFI, the HF and Si are. Post something a little clearer, and maybe some pictures of the plug.

i have a civic with the mpfi swap umm i dont know what you mean by clear.... im using the dx BLOCK the motor that was in the car was a dx but i switch it to mpfi... (you know when u use your stock harness n u cut it and add the si injectors etc) and put in the d15b7 block and im using the d16z6 head and si compenents ill try and get pics today of the plug/sensor

I know what a MPFI conversion is, but did you use the DX hanrss and add to it, did you use the Si harness? Gathering from your response, you used the DX harness and added the parts from the Si, so the plugs on the back that go no where are from the DX, or did you not take care to track what wires went where while doing this?

yup i used the dx harness and added to it i did exactly what it says at this website - http://www.50mod.com/fourthgenhatch/mpfi.html my car was orginally a 90 civic dx,then my friend blew the head gasket in his civic si so he gave me his si distributor, intake wiring harness and ecu,so then i did the mpfi swap and tried runnin it too my stock dx engine (the d15b2 that came with my 90 civic) but then that motor blew up so i got a 94 civic lx engine (d15b7) witch i put in last weekend, but i just traded a pair of old school rockford subs for a vtec head, thats why i asked about the vtec.
ok but the plug in the back of the b15b7 block (also today i pulled the plug and coolant came out) looks like just a bolt like right next to the oil sending unit (i think) but right above the oil filter but on the d15b2 stock dx engine it has 2 prongs sticking out,and on my wiring harness it would plug into that but thats what im sayin the d15b7 doesnt have that ...sensor.. so do i take it out of my old engine?or just not hook up the wires?im not sure if its something i need because its in the wiring harness but not on the lx engine...i dunno maybe that will clear some confusion up im still trying to get pics,i kno sometimes i explain things confusing so bare with me lol but i appreatate your help so lemmy no thanx marcus

It is probably in a different place on the other motor, I'm not going to pour through a manual to find out. Go buy a manual for your car, or the car you motor came out of...or both, you'll be happy you did.
