Cold solder is your problem, if you´re good at hobbiing you can try and desolder the whole thing to look for the cracked solder joint or you can buy a new one.

I am pretty good at soldering , Is the cluster hard to get out ? do i have to resolder everthing or try and find the cracked joint?

Getting the dash out is easy. To get the part disassembled to the pc board takes less than a half hour. Put the e-brake on, turn key on, tilt wheel down(if availible), put trans into 1st (if auto), pull 4 screws around dash pod, remove front and back parts from dash assembly.
Good Luck

Got so excited you had to say it twice :bananasmi ???? dbl post.
Congrats, hopefully no major items were left off the directions like block the wheels so the truck does not roll away when the e-brakes don't work.... :22yikes:
