vacation time.....or maybe NOT

I have a 97 escort, I bought it In March of this year.... I cant get my fan to cut off, it runs non-stop until i cut the motor off......the car is running great besides that....I changed 2 sensers last month, 1 was the heating senser, that got the heating gauge working inside the car....the other senser was the fan senser.......on thing is the sensers I put on it, was for a 98 escort NOT a 97.......would that make a big difference....some people say no others say MAYBE... Im just wondering would it be ok to drive it to the beach.... 255 miles there and 255 back.....I just dont want to break down on the road... I would love some input from people.....thank you

I assume you are talking about the cooling fans under the hood. If they run constantly, especially in the heat we have been having don't worry about it since they will just help keep the water temp. down. It is possible that you installed the wrong fan temp sensor. As long as the fans stop when you turn off the key don't worry about that and enjoy your vacation. The problem probably lies in the fan relay located under the air cleaner assembly. Wait until after vacation to repair the problem.
