i dont get it...from a stop when i floor it she takes off like a bat out of hell, but when it's shifting into second gear it'll hesitate for a split second while its still in upper rpm's and then when i gets into second gear it seems like it looses power and the check engine light comes on...i dont get it...its very random too, it doesnt always happen...i was thinking dirty injectors or something like that...but...any help would be great.

I would say spark plugs because of the hesitation but you say this only happens when u shifting into second and you also note a power loss after shifting. It could be possible. I doubt that its a problem with the fuel system because of it only happening at this time. If you say the check engine light comes on take it to the shop and get the code read.

Funny thing i'm having the exact same problem with my h22a for instance in the morning after over night Car Takes off Quick acclerates like a mofo. But after a while that sheck enigne light comes on then massive decrease in power as well as sputtering when you try to give the car extra gas. haven't had the chance to take it in to get looked at. I have no money no job currently. But i spoke to a few mechanics that are friends of mine. The reasons I get are O2 sensor which don't think is because the symtoms seems to have gradually gotten worse. the other reason I was told by more than one person is spark plugs, or spark plug wires. personally I think it is the spark plugs and plug wires cause. 1) I bought this car used it already had the intake exhaust mod on it and I never had this prob till months later. and when it 1st started it was very random some times it was a nut some time it wasn't then later down the line the light eventually started coming on more often and more power loss was happening. in my opinion sounds like bad spark plugs getting worse especially with all the sputtering it does. it dosen't start up light it used to either. When I 1st got the car turn the key car comes on instantly now it reves a little before start up. my guess is the plug but won't know till either I change them and notice a diff or get the car looked at. anyways good luck.

if it's gradually getting worse - why would you suspect it's NOT the 02? - i bet if you pull your code - it IS the o2 sensor - alot of the symptoms you have indicate it. I'm not sure why either of you don't pull your codes - just locate the service connector behind the center console, and jump it with a paperclip - and count the flashes - there will be slow flashes (count em for your first number) then fast flashes (for the second number) ie: a slow slow, fast fast fast would be 23. - if you're both throwing codes - it's the first logical step to troubleshooting your problem.... spark plugs and spark plug wires (although good to change periodically) don't throw CELS - so just rule that out now. if you have other bogg and hesitation probs - check your timing as well... it can make a world of difference.

when i put the header and exhaust on i didnt buy a new O2 sensor...i just used the stock one on it...it seemed to have been changed recently because the amount of carbon on it was very minimal...but...that sounds like a good place to start...thanx for the info

the best place for you (actually both of you) to start (given what you just said) would be to pull the code - my post ^ was more intended for datura99.
datura in regards to your response.. pulling a code is not that hard. the next time your car throws the code - it will store it in memory till your next start. locate a lil blue service connector from the drivers side - just behind the center console - you may have to dig around with your hands a lil bit - but i'm sure you'll find it. once you find it - jump it with something - anything conductive will work, like a paperclip (heh not plastic kind), small wire, or my favourite - the U shaped audio terminal. once it is jumped turn the ignition on (on as in on, but NOT to start/crank) - now - watch your check engine light - it will flash pulses at you, first slow then fast. count the slow flashes - then count the fast flashes. and come up with a number - as i said above. tell us here WHAT code you are throwing (or if you can't figure the code - tell us how many slow flashes and then how many fast flashes) if you have MULTIPLE problems - it will pulse out one code after another - but let's worry about that hurdle if we come to it. - then we can help you troubleshoot your problems. as for a book, helm's makes a good one - or you can buy a service manual for like a dollar on ebay.

it is quite possible you car had more than 1 stored code - if they were quick to read the first code (the 02 sensor - which you've since replaced)- but didn't let it cycle to the next code (the KS) it's possible you are still having issues with the KS. it is also possible (although unlikely) that soon after the 02 was replaced the KS went. In any case i would think if the ecu were storing codes it would flash them off in ascending order - in which case i believe the KS would have flashed it's code before the 02 would have...
in any case - if you TRULY do have a KS issue - you'll want to have it fixed - if the KS triggers a CEL, your ecu pretty much pulls timing in order to protect the engine from detonation and other bad things associated with knocks/pings. so you lose performance. if you replace it - you should see a marked increase (well back to stock, but better than you are experiencing now) in performance.
hope that makes sense. in any case - learn to read the codes yourself (; trust me - then you're not wasting your time and money replacing sensors that may or may not have to be replaced because some joe smoe at whateva autoshop tells you - you have to. obd2 i understand it's more costly to pull the codes yourself... but obd1 it's so simple there is really no excuse (;
i'm going away for the weekend - but if you guys want a write-up with pictures on how to pull the code on your 92 - 95 ludes let me know and i can do one up w/ pictures when i get back...

RC Fuel Injectors (270cc)
Arospeed Fuel Pressure Regulator
y do u have these when u dont need them?and wheres ur fuel pressure at. should just leave it on stock pressure. u dont have any mods that require bigger injectors. u planing to go turbo or somethign?

planning on turbo yes...but when that'll happen who knows...i got most of those mods (except header and exhaust) from my brother who had a '93 prelude that was really nice...built up i mean...so i figured if i can get them for free...why not? pressure is at stock also.
