you achieve optimum power and efficiency at whatever the middle of your temp guage says. Don't make it run colder or hotter.

well if you wanna make it run cooler find out what thermostat you have and replace it with a cooler one or just take it out and run without one. not to disagree with you OverAllComa but if that is true then why can you buy replacement radiators the advertise "will make your engine run up to 20% cooler, or something like that?

Dont ever run your engine without a thermostat. Some engines need it to properly circulate coolant, and without it, the engine will overheat and serious damage will result.
They make replacement radiators for higher than stock HP engines. More power = more heat. You have to get rid of that heat. A lower temp thermostat such as 160 degrees helps, and programing your fans to come on sooner helps as well. Thats what I would recomend doing, although I doubt you really have a cooling problem.

if you wana do this without spending much money, flush your radiator, wire your fan to your fuse box so it runs when your car turns on (100% positive it will give you a cooler idel temp), remove ac condencer the radiator thing in front of the engine radiator that way air can get to your engine radiator faster and better flow
