b16 VTEC shuts off while racing through gears

well first off when ijust start driving my car vtec wont work until the car is warmed up, then when its warmed up vtec will work then my check engine light comes on when i use vtec. and like i said when im racing through my gears vtec will shutoff...anyone know why? i just got my 02's replaced. it just feels like the b16 has more power than how mine is running.

vtec isn't supposed to kick in until the car is warm - safety thing built into the ecu. When you CEL comes on, what codes are you getting - that would be a good place to start.

the ecu is just flashing 1nce, i think that o2 tho

okay well the ECU is giving me 2 slow blinks then 3 fast blinks then the second time though it gives me 2 slow blinks and 2 fast blinks

i dont know how to read ECU codes sorry
