tranny shift

quick question. got a freind, w/1993 concord and when he takes off the line, his transmitions will not shift into second untill about 4000rpm. and ideas on what to change or replace

i forgot, it has a 3.3 in it

have the fluid level checked make sure it's not burnt and not low. Also, if he hasn't done it already, he needs to go on and put Mopar ATF +4 in the transmission, should help things significantly.

does it have any codes. Like freeknasty said, check your fluid.
