I need some help with a 92' (flowmaster)

I have a 92' RS v8, dual exaust, and i am in the market for a flowmaster muffler, first off, some people are telling me i am going to need two of them.. is this true?
Second.. what size will i be needing, i am in the market for a Series 40 "Original Flows"
Do i want a O/C, or an O/O and witch size of that, 2 1/2, 2 1/4, 2.50, etc.. help me out guys!

dual exhaust on a 3rd gen takes a shitload of work, with a stock 3rd gen you won't have a dual exhaust, it splits after the muffler into 2 pipes. You will only need one muffler

thats REAL awsome to hear man, save myself $80 some bucks, anyway.. what size do i need, its all stock as far as the exaust goes, sorry, im kinda new to the whole thing here, ive been learning about "cars" at a friend of mine's garage, working there part time for 2 years now just learning the basics, i was under the impression that "dual" ment it just had two pipes in the back, sorry to confuse anyone.
Oh and i hear people talking about "catbacks" what exactly are those?
Still sticking with my question, what size do i need... and U/O or O/O but.. what are catbacks to?

for your application, i suggest buying a cat back system. heres why.

the camaro exhaust is as follows. the manifolds go from the engine down to the firewall, where they are connected by a "Y" pipe, it looks almost exatly like that, it takes the two exhaust manifolds, and routes them into a single exhaust pipe. after the "Y" pipe there is a catalytic converter for emissions. bolted to this is the exhaust pipe that travels back down the driveshaft tunnel, over the axle, and into the muffler, which has two outlets that come out on either side of the car out the back, which makes it look like dual exhausts.

a catback exhaust system is a complete setup with all the nessesary pipes, muffler, and tips, and all the mounting hardware to install it, that is designed specifically to mount on your car. it includes everything from the catalytic converter back (but does not include the converter) you can buy these systems from flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax, dynaflo, borla, SLP, corsica, etc. etc. I strongly suggest doing this rather than buying individual peices and trying to make your own system.

well, im not doing this for preformace or anything, just to get the little kitty to have a little more bark, funds are also low right now or id love to do the whole system... but for now i think ill just try and get a better muffler on it, since its cracked anyway and needs a new one, might as well put this one on it, just not sure what size to get...

what garage did you say you worked at with your friend for 2 years? and you never did any kind of exhaust system with your friend? hmm...

just learning the basics, oil changes, breaks, inspection, etc... i know the basics but im still learning, not afraid to admit that, figured this was a good place to find stuff out...

as far as the cat back systems, you can get a dynomax system for 180 bucks, that will bolt right in. to me thats a bargan. if you are just looking to replace the muffler, contact flowmaster and get their opinion. I know the 80 seriese muffler is a direct bolt in. thats what i have. but i bought the entire 3in american thunder cat back system (Around 300 bucks)

Get GMMG Catback Exhaust, sounds the best and cost around $800 :evillol: .

flowmaster make a muffler specifically for camaros and firebirds. our mufflers are basically the only ones that have one inlet and two outlets, with the outlets looking like dual exhaust. just get that one. it costed me around $150 installed when I did it couple of years ago.
